Sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ

Welcome!

As the Episcopal Parish in The City of Lockport, it is our privilege to welcome many visitors throughout the year. Whether you are here as a visitor to our community or are searching for a church home, we hope your time spent with us will be an opportunity to strengthen your relationship with God.

If you are new to this parish or to the Episcopal Church, this information can help you understand the patterns of worship here so that you may participate freely in worship and join us as we are nourished by Christ’s presence in Word and Sacrament.

A Guide for Visitors

Where do I find the words and music for today’s service?

The Sunday bulletin is your basic guide to the worship service. In each pew you will find a black Book of Common Prayer (BCP), a red Hymnal 1982. The hymn numbers are listed in the left-hand margin of your bulletin in bold, as well as on the hymn board near the pulpit. Service music, found in the front of the Hymnal, has an “S” before the number. Page numbers from the BCP are printed in the right hand margin of the bulletin.

Rite II service, used at the 8:00 AM and 10:00 AM services, begins on BCP page #355.

The first part of the service is called “God’s Word” and Includes readings from the Bible, a homily and prayers. The second part of the service is called “God’s Table” in which we give thanks to God; Bread and Wine are blessed and shared.
